In my parish ministry I think I have conducted over 300 weddings and invariably would start with a verse such as

God is Love and those who live in Love live in God and God lives in them (1 John 4:10)

Our regular wedding reunions – 4 I think whilst I was vicar of Tawstock (1984-2010) – with many couples no longer together, showed how difficult ‘loving‘ is.

So how much do we need God’s grace, strength and perseverance in our lives ?

Our Golden Wedding is on 23rd August and I ( and I’m sure Ruth too) can make a heartfelt reply

We need it constantly or in the words of a short chorus I often used in Church -for myself (and all of His /Her children)

May the streams of God’s wondrous love come flowing through me(us)

    Can you explain “regular wedding – 4 I think whilst I was vicar of Tawstock (1984-2010)” – it sounds as if you only conducted 4 weddings in 26 years which seems unlikely.

    1. We had many ‘regular’ reunions, Trevor of which 4 were for those who had been married at St. Peter’s in the time we were there (1984-2010)

      The other regular reunions were

      1. Baptisms at Tawstock (we had 3 , I think) and the first was for all baptised from the early 1900’s to date we had the reunion
      2. Old vicars and PCC members –all we could trace
      3. Old Sunday School teachers and pupils
      4. All ‘Confirmed’ at St Peter’s over the past 50 years.

      They were all really enjoyable worship events and you may see some of them on the website, Trevor.

        I misunderstood you to mean actual weddings, not wedding reunions(get together of those married in similar contexts?).
